My name is Heather Halpern and I am from Edmonton, Canada. I caught the ‘travel bug’ many years back and since then I haven’t been able to quench the thirst for seeing more of the world. It all started when I was just a wee young thang, and I was a competitive rhythmic gymnast. I loved the sport and the challenge of becoming a better gymnast, but what I think the sport really gave me was a craving for travel. When I left the nest and could fully support myself, I chose to jump ship and spend a year in Australia instead of going to University like most of my friends. In that year, I grew so much as a person and experienced more than hours in a classroom could have ever given me. As the years have gone by I, have tried to see the world as much as possible. The friends that I have met from near and far truly have made an impact on my life. Experiencing how others live and the happiness that many have with very little also inspire me to be a better person. I hope that even though I may be a bit vulgar at times, that I also help bring a little piece of the world to my readers through both my adventures and blunders!
