Artists of the month (March) Jesse Jentzen.
Jesse Jentzen is best known for his graphic portraits depicting men, women and children. Jentzen’s work is done in various mediums including oil paints, acrylic paints, wax pencils, pens, sharpie, graphite and digital painting. Jentzen first studied art from home with his mother who introduced him to portrait painting at an early age. Eventually, he developed his own technique that has evolved into an immediately recognisable style of realism.
Following graduation from high school, Jentzen has pursued his passion for art working strictly as a free-lance artist.
Jentzen immediately gravitated towards portraits as they allowed him to evoke emotions that aren’t readily expressed. While every piece has a story behind it, Jentzen strives to keep the subject matter simple yet visually demanding. This allows for the viewer to attribute their own story to the artwork without distracting from the personal intent behind it.
Jentzen remains busy completing a steady stream of private commissions throughout the year in addition to personal artistic ventures. When Jentzen is not drawing, he spends his time attempting to read several books at once, surfing, adventuring with friends and working out. Jentzen currently resides in his childhood home in California along with his dog.
