I’m a Portuguese pastry chef with 18 years of experience in hospitality business all around the world. Started my education attending to a professional hospitality school and then decided to focus on the haute cuisine of Luxury Hotels and Resorts, working for the FourSeasons Landaa Giraavaru (Maldives), the Ritz-Carlton, Penha Longa (Portugal) and the Forte Village Resort, Sardinia (Italy). My thirst for knowledge and curiosity about the new pastry trends took me to attend one of the most famous pastry school in the world ENSP – Ecole Nationale Superieure de la Patisserie in France. For the same reasons, I’ve been a Judge on the TV program “Best Bakery – Portugal,” a format that travels the country to find out the best bakery.
After traveling the world from Austria, to France, to the UK, to Maldives, I opened the Bellavista Hotel & Spa in Portimão and the Epic Sana Algarve Resort in Albufeira. At the moment I’m based in my hometown – Arronches – on my family business, mixing both modern and traditional pastry, as well, starting a new brand named Arguelles Atelier, and working as a pastry chef consultant for some hotels and restaurants around the country.
