I achieved my Advanced Certificate and international ITEC Diploma in Make-Up and Special Effects, and in 2009, i was awarded Student Of The Year.
Little did I know that what I once considered being more of a “hobby” would become a full-time career for me.
Shortly after I graduated, I started freelancing for production houses like MNet, eTV and SABC plus I landed up doing Make-Up workshops for Estee Lauder.
I then went on to become a permanent Make-up Artist at eNCA (Channel 403 on DStv) in 2010.
After five years with eNCA, I decided I needed more creativity in my life (as with any job that you do long enough, you get too comfortable and can do it with your eyes closed),
I needed something to challenge me again.
So in July 2015, I called it a day and decided to venture out into the world of freelancing.
So what am I doing now………
• I’m a part-time lecturer at an accredited Make-Up institution
• I’m still in the TV world funny enough but working with various production houses with a broad spectrum from commercials to corporate photo shoots.
• Magazine Shoots
• Pilots for potential shows
• Matric Farewell Make-Up
• Wedding Make-Up
• High Fashion Make-Up
• and the list goes on and on
I absolutely love what I do, and am forever thankful that I accidently stumbled into this wonderful colourful world but even more thankful that I have the talent to be able to do it beautifully.
So here’s to letting my brushes fly and creating magic – Cheers!
