I’m a qualified fine dining chef, graduated from the Prue Leith Chefs Academy in 2008. My passion for food started at a young age sharing in cooking antics alongside my late Grandmother. My Mom then following tradition in allowing me to have a go at everything that interested me. My fondest memory has to be sitting on the kitchen floor scraping every last bit out of the bowl that was either sauce or cookie dough. Yum!
Food for me is as simple as bringing people together, all sharing in the pleasure of great company and delicious food, it’s soul warming. Along with it being so rewarding, nothing gets people talking quite like a dish that left them dreaming for more. I have always believed that the best parties are ones in the kitchen.
Although I’m a fine dining chef, I like to leave the neatly plated very intricate things to the steady handed chefs, I’m more of a chef that likes to design my menu on the freshest seasonal ingredients along with my mood at the time. It works for me. I’m rather more rustic, less fuss more heart and soul kind of girl. I want to see me on the plate. Creative is my second name; I like to taste and add a bit of this and that as I go along.
I’ve worked in the restaurant industry as well as the catering industry and found my happy place in private cheffing. Again this allows me to be myself and go with my own flow.
My signature dish would have to be my Dijon mustard crusted Fillet( done medium rare I must add, there simply is just no better way) served with Parmesan mash potato, sauté greens and a wild mushroom truffle cream. Rustic and simply delicious, it will get those taste buds dancing.
If I’m not cooking it up at work or entertaining my friends and family at home, I spend my spare time mountain biking and getting muddy. It’s my Favorite place to set my mind free.
